Proposition KIDS Info - April 7, 2026 Bond Issue

At the April 7, 2026 election, voters in the Strafford R-VI School District will consider Proposition K.I.D.S., a $16 million No Tax increase general obligation bond focused on facility improvements identified in the district’s long-range master facility plan.

The goal of this facility planning has been to meet the needs and priorities identified through the most recent Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). The CSIP process identified the district vision: Model Excellence, Set the Standard, and Maximize Potential. This ballot measure is directly tied to that vision!

To this end, you will find a copy of the updated CSIP Plan and the Master Facility Plan below:

If approved, the bond would support improvements to learning environments, safety and accessibility upgrades, traffic and parking improvements, and updates to facilities used by students and the community. If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the school district is estimated to remain unchanged at $0.70000 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.

Snow Route Information

Dear Bus Parents,

At times, due to inclement weather and poor road conditions, it will be necessary for us to run a “snow route” with some of our buses. If conditions call for this action, it will be announced by our school communications that we will be having school with snow routes only.

Students on snow route buses will be picked up from and dropped off at the designated stops. Parents will need to have their students at the stop in the morning and have someone there to pick up the students at the designated times in the afternoon. Students will not be allowed off the bus unless a parent or other designee is there to pick them up. A note for each school year will need to be signed by the parent and building administrator and will be required if other arrangements are made. If a parent or other designee is not at the drop off point and the driver has not been made aware of other arrangements, the student will be returned to school for parent pick up.

The following buses will be using snow routes:
Bus #7;
Bus #11;
Bus #12.

Snow route times and pickup/drop off locations for these bus routes will be established by the drivers and myself.

If your student/s do not ride on one of these buses, your bus will run its route as normal.

Should you have any questions please contact me.

Master Facility Plan

The Master Facility Planning Committee worked last spring to gather feedback and identify needs and priorities for the district over the next five to ten years. The plan was completed and finalized over the summer and some projects have already been completed using available district funds, including a newly renovated track, a new video scoreboard, and new goal posts.

The original plan from 2013 was included as a reminder of what the district has been able to accomplish thanks to the wonderful community of Strafford. You will notice that the needs identified in 2013 were met and even exceeded. This is due to the support of our community. As we move into the current facility plan, we are excited to continue to meet the needs of our students and community through improvements and additions in many areas to include the auditorium, the Vo Ag facility, ADA playground, as well as others. This is not necessarily an all inclusive list, however it helps up prioritize needs moving forward.

This is an exciting time for Strafford Schools as we strive to Set the Standard, Model Excellence, and Maximize Potential!
